WING COMMANDER PRIVATEER GRAPHICS OVERHAUL PLUS
Plus they wanted to do something new and have a bit more fun with it. This time around they decided there was plenty of space for that style of game. They had no idea that a few years later it wasn't. The only reason they went with the broadside combat is because at the time they thought the cockpit-view genre was about to be flooded.

RGO is a spiritual successor to one of the greatest space combat sims ever made, so they will be able to carve out thier own customer base with this game as well since none of those games are even close to being the same as what Privateer was. NMS is more of a survival game where you spend most of the game play on planets then you do in space. SC is far from being finished and not really a game right now.Įlite Dangerous is a massive grind that is kind of boring. And it isn't so much about competing with them, it was more about feeling like they would be crushed by them at that time and end up being not noticed, because at the time they thought those games would be closer to what they would have made, but in the end none of them made anything close to what they would have made and had they done it in the first place they wouldn't have been crushed at all. So that is the direction they were headed, that being creating a game that is literally filling a part of the market that has been ignored for 2 decades. There hasn't been anything like Wing Commander Privateer in over 20 years, it was time to have one. Just being able to see your ship and the colorful graphics you offer made the game enjoyable to play.īecause none of those games did what they would have done, which is make a literal Wing Commander Privateer spiritual successor, which none of those other games end up not being anything like that at all. If you're not going in the direction of Elite Dangerous or SC then what is the point of cockpit fighting? The naval base gave more in depth feeling of combat. I fell in love with that game and how the naval combat system was. No matter how hard Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous and even No Man Sky for that matter try to give realistic graphics for space simulation nothing will compare to Rebel Galaxy. Kinda stick to the adventure RPG style but giving the elements of a open universe space simulation. I was hoping that your next installment would be in the line of SC and ED but not going all out like they did.

Then after the release you realized you can compete with them. You were afraid to compete with ED, SC and NMS. What direction are you headed with this? I saw the video of the one hour play. Just being able to see your ship and the colorful graphics you offer made the game enjoyable to play. The day I played Rebel Galaxy I fell in love with the game.
